| Purpose |
Guide merchants through uploading files (batch transactions, BillPayIt files, auto daily reports, settlement files, etc.) using the Forte Secure FTP Web Interface.

External – merchants using the Forte Secure FTP Web Interface.
Prerequisites
FTP credentials (username and password) from your Integration Specialist.
Your upload file (e.g., batch file, BillPay file) built according to the correct specification.
Important file size note
Be aware of the size of your upload file.
Files larger than 1 GB (e.g., millions of records) can slow down or lock up the interface.
Forte recommends files containing no more than ~500,000 items at a time.
| Steps |
Log in
Open the Forte Secure FTP Web Interface URL in your browser (Chrome recommended).
Enter your Username and Password and log in.
Start the upload
Click File Upload from the top menu.
Your computer’s File Explorer (or Finder) opens.
Locate and select your file.
Click Open.
Monitor the upload
The interface begins uploading your file and shows progress in the In Progress dropdown.
When the upload completes, the file will appear in the appropriate folder (often
dlanduldepending on the application).
Rename the file (if required by the application)
Check the checkbox next to the uploaded file.
An Options menu appears.
Click Edit to rename the file.
Enter the correct file name based on your application’s naming rules (for example, BillPayIt naming or batch naming such as
na3xxxxx.r01).Click OK to save the new file name.
Confirm successful upload
After the application successfully receives and processes the file, you will receive an email notification from the Forte server.
If you do not receive a confirmation email:
A support ticket is automatically created for the Support team.
A team member will reach out to assist you.
For urgent issues, contact integration@forte.net or call 866-290-5400, option 5.
Other upload/download options
If you prefer not to use the web interface, you can use a third-party FTP client (e.g., FileZilla, FireFTP, WinSCP) with the same credentials.
