Terminal Update Instruction
 (for Terminals Unable to Connect to VHQ)

If your payment terminal cannot connect directly to the Verifone VHQ system, you can perform a manual update using a USB drive. The update consists of two main parts: installing the ADK file and installing the VHQ configuration file. Please follow the instructions below carefully.

Step 1: Prepare the Update Files

1. Download the following files:

   • ADK File: dl.adk-4.7.23.4-1606-vos2-engage-prod.tgz
     (Download button is in the upper-right corner of the provided page link)

   • VHQ File: Forte-vhq.verifone.com-3.2.6_Config_Engage_noema.tgz
     (See attachment below)

2. Copy both files onto a USB drive.

   • ⚠️ Important: The USB drive must be small enough to fit into the port located on the bottom of the terminal.

Step 2: Install the ADK File

1. Ensure the terminal is powered on.

2. Insert the prepared USB drive into the terminal’s USB port (bottom of the device).

3. Enter Admin Mode:

   • Press 1 + 5 + 9 at the same time until the menu appears.

4. Navigate through the menu:

   • Scroll down and tap Control Panel.

   • Scroll down again and tap Sysmode.

   • Tap Supervisor.

   • Enter your Supervisor password.

     • If you don’t have the password, contact Technical Support at 866-290-5400, Option 5.

5. From the Supervisor menu:

   • Tap Update.

   • Select USB Memory.

   • Choose the file: dl.adk-4.7.23.4-1606-vos2-engage-prod.tgz.

   • When prompted “Please confirm…”, tap OK.

   • When prompted “Start Install?”, tap OK.

6. The installation will begin.

   • A progress bar will appear.

   • The terminal will reboot multiple times during this process.

   • Total installation time is about 5 minutes.

   • Once completed, the terminal will return to the main screen.

Step 3: Install the VHQ File

1. Enter Admin Mode again:

   • Press 1 + 5 + 9 at the same time.

   • Scroll down and tap Control Panel.

   • Scroll down and tap Sysmode.

   • Tap Supervisor and enter your password.

2. From the Supervisor menu:

   • Tap Update.

   • Select USB Memory.

   • Choose the file: Forte-vhq.verifone.com-3.2.6_Config_Engage_noema.tgz.

   • When prompted “Please confirm…”, tap OK.

   • When prompted “Start Install?”, tap OK.

3. The installation will begin.

   • The terminal will reboot automatically when complete.

Step 4: Finalize the Update

1. Remove the USB drive from the terminal.

2. The terminal should automatically attempt to contact VHQ for updates.

3. To ensure the process is successful, please call our Technical Support team to notify them that your terminal is ready for updates.

✅ Once completed, your terminal will be updated and reconnected to VHQ.
