Description of issue and symptoms

If masking is set incorrectly on the reader, Secure Web Pay Checkout and Virtual Terminal may incorrectly identify VISA card types - VISA STANDARD and VISA DEBIT. For merchants participating in the VISA TAX program, this may cause incorrect service fees to be calculated. The correct masking profile for the reader is: MASK_6ZERO4. 


Resolution

  • Close Secure Web Pay Checkout and Virtual Terminal websites before continuing.


To reconfigure the reader, visit https://rs.magensa.net/rs2/app/publish.htm


Click "Install". An 'setup.exe' file will be downloaded. 


Next, run the 'setup.exe' file.



Click "Use Public Account".



Click "Detect". 


Select the appropriate reader from the 'Device List' drop down.



From the 'Reader Config Options' drop down list, select: 

Click "Change Config" and wait for the operation to complete.

Disconnect the reader from the computer.


Close Magtek's reader configuration program.


Reconnect the reader to the computer after waiting 30 seconds.


Lastly, verify swipe functionality with Secure Web Pay Checkout and/or Virtual Terminal.
