A point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solution combines processes, applications and payment devices to securely encrypt and protect data during transit from the POI device/terminal or POS system. Payment card data is encrypted at the POI by read-head hardware regardless of whether the data enters into the POI device by swiping, dipping, tapping, or typing.
