Visa Threat Intelligence Historical Library is Now Available

For: All merchants
Date effective: Immediately

Visa is making its historical library of breach intelligence available through the end of 2018 to any organization concerned with protecting payment data from cybercrime, theft, and fraud. The Visa Threat Intelligence (VTI) library contains indicators of data compromise from attacks against all sectors of the payments ecosystem, including merchants in the retail, restaurant, and hospitality space, as well as financial institutions and other victims from January 2016 to June 2018. The library contains detailed context to help merchants understand the nature of each threat indicator, including how and when it was used by cybercriminals.

Cyber threat intelligence can enable network defenders to quickly and more effectively identify, investigate, and resolve threats before serious damage can be done. Payment-specific cyber threat intelligence can be the key to stopping these attacks before payment card data is stolen and used to commit fraud online and at brick-and-mortar locations.

You are encouraged to leverage the intelligence to help track down and monitor undiscovered cyber threats in your organization. This intelligence may help keep you aware of attackers’ tactics and methods that Visa has observed, and give you an advantage over cybercriminals this holiday season.
